Hello, I'm Helen Hoyte, a neurodiversity-affirming counsellor, coach, and clinical supervisor with a particular interest in supporting ADHD, autism, trauma, emotional regulation, identity, and self-understanding. Alongside my professional training and experience, I also bring lived experience of ADHD, which gives me a personal understanding of the challenges that can come with navigating a world that is not always designed with neurodivergent minds in mind.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and compassionate. I integrate counselling, psychoeducation, and practical strategies to help clients better understand themselves, build emotional resilience, and create lives that work for them. Whether you are seeking support with overwhelm, burnout, relationships, self-esteem, masking, anxiety, or the impact of a late diagnosis, I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move towards meaningful and sustainable change.
I believe that many of the difficulties people experience are not signs that something is wrong with them, but understandable responses to life experiences, environments, and nervous systems that have been under pressure for a long time. My work is rooted in curiosity, compassion, and understanding. Together, we explore not only thoughts and emotions, but also what is happening in the body, helping you develop greater awareness, self-acceptance, and practical tools for everyday life.
I work integratively, drawing from person-centred counselling, CBT, mindfulness, somatic approaches, psychoeducation, and coaching where appropriate. I tailor therapy to the individual rather than expecting people to fit a particular model. Whether you are looking for deeper self-exploration, emotional support, practical strategies, or a combination of these, I aim to create a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, collaborative, and empowering.
