About Me
Hi I'm Jason, a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Hull. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space where you can talk openly about what's going on without needing to have everything figured out first.
Neurodivergence
I have a special interest in working with adults who have discovered their neurodivergence later in life. A diagnosis can bring understanding but it can also raise new questions about your identity, relationships, work and earlier experiences. I believe my lived experience of late-diagnosis helps me relate to my clients who may be navigating a recent diagnosis.
You don’t have to be neurodivergent to work with me. I work with a broad range of adults.
My Background
Before I trained as a therapist, I had a 15-year career in aerospace engineering in both craft and professional roles. I understand the pressures of demanding workplaces, responsibility, career change and how closely work can become tied to identity and self-worth. My own experiences of mental health struggles ultimately led me to train as a therapist and I am able to use my lived experience as well as my training to support clients.
I’m interested in helping you understand yourself, recognise patterns that may no longer serve you and explore what you might want to do differently. We will work collaboratively and at a pace that feels right for you. I have a special interest in working with adults who have discovered their neurodivergence later in life.
I offer clients face to face appointments in Hull, East Yorkshire or I can work remotely over the phone or online if you prefer.
If you’re not sure if therapy is for you or if you would like to find out more about working with me, a consultation is an ideal place to start. I offer all new clients a free 30-minute initial consultation to discuss working together. Please visit my website for more information about me and what our work together could look like.
